Online Map Veto Process

ONLINE MAP VETO PROCESS

Updated: November 7th, 2022

Challengers tournaments will utilize the following map vetoes when reaching the Double Elimination portion of their tournaments.

After map vetoes teams will be able to impose one host veto. This means one player will be barred from hosting by the opposing team. Teams may request that this is done double-blind wherein each team will DM an admin privately and the admin will share host vetoes. Otherwise, each team will post the vetoes themselves in a given match channel.

VETO PROCESS

CALL OF DUTY LEAGUE:

Higher seeded Team must choose to act as Team A or Team B.

  1. For any matches without a higher seeded Team, a coinflip will be used to
    determine which team will choose to start as Team A or Team B.

  2. B bans one remaining map from pool
  3. A picks Map 1 of the remaining maps
  4. B picks side on Map 1
  5. B picks Map 4 of the remaining maps
  6. A picks side on Map 4

SEARCH AND DESTROY

  1. B bans one map from pool
  2. A bans one remaining map from pool
  3. B picks Map 2 of the remaining maps
  4. A chooses side on Map 2
  5. A picks Map 5 of the remaining maps
  6. B chooses side on Map 5
  7. Remaining map is played for Map 7

CONTROL

CHALLENGERS:

ADMIN COMMUNICATION

  1. Players will be provided a link to Discord within the competition platform.Two members per team are required to join.Admins will add players to a match channel to carry out the Veto Process.
  2. When players are in their match channel, an admin in Discord will inform players a 10 minute timer to complete vetoes has begun.The match will proceed when the vetoes are complete.If the vetoes are not complete within the 10 minute timer, both teams will receive a stall penalty.Admins reserve the right to exempt a team from a stall penalty.
  3. Stall Penalty
    1. 1st penalty: Warning
    2. 2nd penalty: Map 1 loss
    3. 3rd penalty: Match loss
